The Office of Children & Family Services Application now allows providers to submit online background checks!

The Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) is excited to announce the following new opportunity which is intended to streamline the Comprehensive Background Check (CBC) process for child care programs. The Facility Application and Management System (FAMS) now allows providers to submit online background checks!

In FAMS you can now:

  • Request a fingerprint waiver (move a currently cleared person into another program)

  • Complete and submit Comprehensive Background Check) information (6000 Packet) for all your employees/ volunteers/household members

  • Streamline your clearance process with immediate access to view all staff and where they are in the background check process

  • Access the Online Clearance System directly where you can submit the Statewide Central Register (SCR) Database checks and make payments for those clearances in the system

  • Easily add and end date staff and communicate to OCFS in real time

  • Directly access CBC Comprehensive Background Check (CBC) letters
